When you push into the floor, you create ground reaction force that travels through the kinetic chain: feet → legs → hips → torso → shoulder → fist. Stronger glutes means that: • Greater hip extension force • Faster pelvic rotation • Better force transfer through the trunk • More stability when planting and pivoting They also stabilize the pelvis (via glute medius), improving balance, cutting angles, and reducing knee + lower back stress.
